A Boomer’s paradise

American Physical Therapy Association recently ranked Washington, D.C., as one of the top 10 places for healthy baby boomers.

Washington placed seventh on the list, while San Jose, Calif., placed first.

Baby boomers live longer on Capitol Hill. The life expectancy for people over age 50 in Washington is 80 years old.

Also, 95.6 percent of boomers living in the area said they are satisfied with their quality of life.

The report gauged the life expectancy, health insurance and available health care resources of U.S. cities.

Other factors, such as lifestyle, fitness programs and recreational activities also played a big role in the decision.
